Dear Parents,
It has been a great school year and everything is going well! However, as we have been approaching the end of the year I have noticed that the children have become quite restless with summer right around the corner. What I decided to do was have the children come up with different themes and activities that we can do to make our remaining time together the best experience that we can. These days are completely optional. They are not going to interfere with our daily academic schedule. Our last project of the year is going to focus on our passions.
One thing that I am passionate about is helping the homeless. I have decided that on the 17th of June we are going to prepare food and take the trolley downtown and help feed the homeless. Due to the nature of this activity we will need a lot of parent support. I will be sending home a permission slip for this activity. I believe that in order to have a better world, we need to teach the children to reach out to those who are less fortunate than we are.
One of the students requested that we have a beach clean-up day. So we will be doing that on June 11th. Please let me know as soon as possible if you would be willing to volunteer for one or all of these act ivies. On the last day we will be walking over to the Handlery Hotel for a pool party! Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. 619-972-6032
Much Love,
Bill
